Forgive the pun!

The audiences very, very humble and grateful, the level of Jewish musicians undisputed throughout the world. We, on the other hand, from Holland, are organizing a grass-roots pilot program supported by Issta Direct Charter flights and the Jerusalem tourist bureau to hold crowd-happening style singing workshops at holy sites. The point being using music, song, klaagliederen as a form of worship/communication with your higher power/God/His Name/Allah/Krisha/buddha. I would love to talk to Yossi and Alban more about how and where to play and present music/Alban’s music in Israel. We played at some wonderful kibbutzes and there is much peace north of Haifa in W. Galilee. You would be welcome and you MUST see the B’hai Gardens rolling off the holy hillside in Haifa, in a straight line through the sea into Acre! My dream is to play cello at the Al Aqksa mosque site, the site holy to Jewish legend, the center of creation itself-I paid a visit there on New Year this year and I assure you, your future missions will become clear there!

I would LOVE to come to Israel rather sooner than later. My grandfather was Jewish, my greatgrandfather’s name was even Solomon Federman (from Czech Republic), so I feel a strong affinity with your country and would love to play and teach there as much as I could manage. If somebody invites me, I am coming!
Best wishes from Hong Kong,
Alban

I love reading your blog and your playing is very inspiring. I would love for you to come to Israel and share your music with us. Perhaps a master class at the Jersualem Academy of Music as well?

My partner and I were at the Saturday night performance of the Boston concert. Your playing was truly wonderful in the entire concert, both the Chin and the Dvorak. I’m less convinced by the Chin concerto than you are, but you live with it, and I was just a “visitor”. I thought it was interesting, and certainly not offensive (which is a small achievement in itself and something I had half expected), but I can’t say there was anything in it that would make me want to hear it a second time. Your playing, on the other hand, was magnificent. You are truly first-rate. Please come back to Boston again soon, we love hearing you play here. And I hope you will have your manager also look into performing a recital also through the Celebrity Series (www.celebrityseries.org). You’re lucky you missed one of our all-too frequent snowstorms this winter too. But the good news with all the snow is that the skiing is rather good here these days. 🙂
